his earliest days, Mishel has dreamed of leaving his beloved home and valley to ascend the shrouded-in-mist Mount Mandala, the highest and most sacred peak of all. Many have attempted the ascent; few return. And all who do are greatly changed.

One day, Mishel and his childhood kinswoman, Lorinda, discover a book hidden deep within the cavernous Myrnian archives…and are compelled on their own journey, rife with danger and twists of destiny, toward the mysterious mountain.
