War is not what this young soldier thought it would be.

April 1861

Sixteen-year-old David Wellington packs a bag, boards a train, and starts his journey east. Destination? The Union Army. Reason? War between the North and South.

He leaves behind a proud father, a sorrowful mother, and a familiar world. Over the next three months, he must not only fight battles between North and South, but also deal with the indecision that rages within. Can killing another person—a brother, a fellow American—be right? What is right?
