THE JEMMA Series

An unforgettable, folksy love story set in the '60s and '70s in smalltown, Texas.

BOOK FIVE
Bless the Moon

Parenthood descends upon the just and the unjust, changing lives like diapers.

Three brand spanking new residents arrive in Connelly, Texas, during the frigid winter of 1973. But those aren't the only happenings whipping around in the Panhandle wind. The society page editor of the Chillaton Star makes a whopper of a typo that has the whole town gossiping. Lester's once-dead wife reappears, and the outspoken postmistress inherits a gun-totin' mother-in-law. Jemma grandmother, Lizbeth, might just get more than her college degree, and Aunt Do Dah runs smack dab into Cupid and the law.

Porch company becomes a hot request
during grace at Chillaton suppertime tables.
They're all just hoping there's enough to go around. Grab some while you can, hon.

Don't miss the delightful characters, risky escapades, and charming peeks into lively Chillaton.

BOOK ONE
Corner of Blue

She thought she had her love life ironed out. Now there's plenty to stew over...

Jemmabeth Forrester doesn't learn from anybody's mistakes but her own, so she's obliged to make plenty of them.

She's always been a good girl, and she has a boxful of Sunday school perfect attendance certificates to prove it. Someday she'll marry Spencer, the hometown guy who's been in love with her since the first grade.

But is that all there is to life? Or is there something more than she's missed? It seems that half of Chillaton's--a small farming community where everybody knows one another all too well--is giving her advice.

But Jemma's like the Texas Panhandle wind--strong and shifty. When she meets Paul, a buckaroo lawyer, trouble is afoot....

BOOK TWO
In My Bones

Trouble is headin' down Jemma's road...just when she had things figured out, too!

It's 1966. Jemmabeth Forrester's longtime sweetheart, Spencer Chase, is ready to offer her The Ring...but cowboy lawyer Paul Turner plots his own proposals.
Jealous Missy Barnes, known as The Cleave from her infamous baton-twirling days, stands nearby to do what she can to twist that ring right off Jemma. Then there's the secret pact that Jemma and Spencer are determined to keep, despite their anxieties over the Vietnam war...

Jemma's grandmother, Lizbeth Forrester, has already lost two soldier sons. They're buried in places she's only seen in the atlas.
Will she ever get her heart's desire-to say a prayer over their resting places? Then a mail-order bride invades the neighborhood. And Jemma's great Aunt Do Dah is up to something-but what?

Take a seat at Lizbeth's kitchenette with Jemma and friends. Ask for a second helping of Willa's cobbler while you're at it, hon.

BOOK THREE
Taste of Gold

Things are always hoppin' in the Texas Panhandle...

It's 1969. Newlyweds Jemmabeth and Spencer Chase deserve every happiness. After all, they've been in love since the first grade. With Spencer home at last from the Vietnam War and with Jemma's near-brush with death, it was about time for the two to tie the knot.

But can even bliss stub its toe in the realities of everyday life? Especially with ex-boyfriend Paul and Missy Blake, "The Cleave," determined to wrestle their way between the darlings of the Texas Panhandle?

Come on in to Nedra's Beauty Parlor & Craft Nook and sit a spell. Exchange a story or two. You'll be glad you did.

BOOK FOUR
Dust of Orion

There are secrets galore in the little town of Chillaton, Texas.

In the early 1970s the friendly residents of Chillaton are raising their cotton and kids to semi-perfection.  But you have to hold your mouth just right, though, if you want to stay on everybody's good side... and out of the ongoing stories at Nedra's Nook.

Jemmabeth always gives them plenty to talk about…with her art showing around the world and her persistent old flame, Paul, buying the sprawling Lazy J ranch in
Connelly County.

That’s not the only thing going on, either. Jemma’s husband, Spencer, has to decide whether or not to take a big risk. Lester, the entrepreneurial neighbor, is again up to something, and Lizbeth harbors a secret. To make things worse, the new society page editor at the local newspaper is determined to vex everybody with her advice.

Join the fun, weather the perils, and get a fresh outlook on love hope, and Latin, darlin'.

Sharon McAnear

Sharon McAnear grew up in the Texas Panhandle, where cotton reigned as king and small-town drama was his queen.

“The Jemma series is more than a love story,” Sharon says. “It rekindles a sweeter time when family and friends were everywhere, and you were frequently glad of it. When needed, the good citizens of Connelly County stood ready to help out with chores, form a prayer circle, or stretch the truth about your situation. Take your pick.”

Sharon and her family live in Colorado.
